Bungalow Revival in Denver’s Driving Park Historic District
Built in 1925, this adorable bungalow in the Driving Park Historic District of Denver was ready for a refresh when purchased last year.
The high ceilings, original wood floors, well-placed windows, and classic bungalow floor plan provided the foundation for our renovation.
The archways were opened up, the narrow back staircase was moved to the front of the home, the dining room ceiling was vaulted and beautifully finished with bead board. The kitchen footprint (enlarged by moving the staircase) now allowed for an island, gorgeous grey cabinetry, quartz countertops, new stainless appliances, and brass lighting fixtures.
The primary bedroom now has its own bathroom (with super light thanks to a skylight), with new windows and closet. The guest room has a spacious new bathroom also. The basement became fully functional with a TV/gaming room, two bedrooms, extra-spacious new bathroom, and best-ever laundry room.
We thoroughly enjoyed working with Kristin Park on the architectural design of our bungalow revival.
